It has grown into a multi million pound company celebrating 25 years in business this year. Importing from both the U.S.A. and Europe.
Tim Hannam’s now operates from a custom-built warehouse facility in the North of England. Nestling in the glorious Yorkshire countryside close to the historic city of York, it is ideally situated to service the whole of the U.K. The close proximity of the U.K.’s major motorways allows easy access for customers and freight.
The location of the warehouse is Peckfield Lodge, an area steeped in history. The highway at the front of property was the route used by mail coaches travelling between London and Edinburgh in the 17th century, and at one time was the main route between these two capitols. The warehouse has been adapted from the stables where the horses were exchanged before continuing their journey. Though there is no definitive history on the property, it is thought that there has been a house on the site since the late 1600s.
Though initially intended to be trade only, a loyal band of retail customers visit us on a regular basis, as well as purchase
from us by mail order. These customers know they will get good, honest advice from Tim Hannam’s. It is also convenient as our government legislation can make it difficult for some shooting items to be transported.
Many trade customers also find it convenient to call to re-stock their gun shops, as the transportation of nitro powder, ammunition and primers can be expensive and require specialised carriers. Our extensive grounds enable us to have a large nitro powder storage facility, ensuring a constant supply of powder.
Tim Hannam’s has grown to import from 26 U.S and 4 European manufacturers. With many different products available, our customers know that there’s a good chance that Tim Hannam’s will stock it.
This has been our policy, to provide as much variety as possible to our customers under one roof. It enables them to call Tim Hannam’s and get all their requirements from us, thus minimising carriage costs.
Through advertising in the shooting press and our 25-year history, we are familiar with many of the gun shops around the country, and are bringing on board new customers all the time. We pride ourselves on having a friendly relationship with all our customers and endeavour to look after them.
We liase with the shooting press providing information and products for review. Our warehouse capacity is extensive, enabling us to expand our product line easily.
With regular staff training on new products, we keep our customers and ourselves up to date.
